Northwind Health

When clinicians spend less time clicking, patients get more of their day back.

Northwind’s charting tool had grown by accretion - every feature request bolted on another modal, another required field, another click between a clinician and the patient in front of them. We started by sitting in on real shifts and counting the taps it took to close a single encounter.

What we did

  • Mapped the seven most common workflows and cut the median click count by 41%.
  • Rebuilt the encounter screen around a single, glanceable timeline.
  • Designed a keyboard-first interaction model for the power users who live in the app all day.

The result wasn’t a flashy redesign - it was a quiet one. The kind nobody notices, because the software finally gets out of the way.

Open to contract work, full-time roles, and interesting conversations about hard design problems.
